Billing Information

Victorian Imaging Specialists offer a range of payment options to ensure access to high-quality imaging services. We provide bulk billing for eligible Medicare-rebatable scans, and for services not covered by Medicare, we offer flexible payment solutions.

Bulk Billing and Medicare Rebates:

• Bulk billing is available for many Medicare-eligible imaging services. If your scan is covered, there will be no out-of-pocket expense.
• To be bulk billed, you must have a valid Medicare card and a referral from your doctor.
• Some specialised scans may not be fully covered by Medicare and may require a partial gap payment.

Private and Health Fund Billing:

• Patients without Medicare coverage can pay privately for imaging services.
• Some private health insurers offer rebates for imaging, but coverage varies. Check with your health fund before your appointment.
• If using private health insurance, patients may need to pay upfront and claim reimbursement directly from their insurer.

WorkCover, TAC, and DVA Patients:

• We accept approved WorkCover and Transport Accident Commission (TAC) claims. A claim number and approval from the insurer may be required before your scan.
• Patients covered by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) should bring their DVA card. Eligible services are fully covered.

Payment Methods and Fees:

• Payments can be made via EFTPOS, credit card, or direct deposit.
• If your scan requires an out-of-pocket fee, this will be explained at the time of booking.
• A receipt will be provided so you can claim eligible expenses through Medicare or your private health fund.
