Preparation Guidelines

Different imaging procedures have specific requirements, so it is important to follow the instructions provided at the time of booking. Failing to prepare correctly may result in the need to reschedule your appointment.

Below are general preparation guidelines for various imaging services. If you have any questions, please contact your nearest VIS clinic before your appointment.

General Preparation Instructions:

  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing without metal fastenings such as zippers or buttons, as metal can interfere with imaging results.
  • Remove jewellery, watches, and any other metallic accessories before your scan.
  • Continue taking prescribed medications unless otherwise advised by your doctor or our team. If you are on blood thinners, please inform staff before your appointment.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for check-in and any necessary paperwork.
  • If you are pregnant or suspect you may be, notify staff before the scan, as some imaging tests may not be recommended during pregnancy.

Important Considerations:

  • Patients with diabetes should discuss fasting requirements with their doctor, particularly for morning appointments.
  • Patients with allergies to contrast dye, iodine, or latex should notify staff in advance so alternative arrangements can be made.
  • If sedation is required for any procedure, arrange for someone to drive you home after your appointment.

For specific preparation instructions related to your imaging appointment, please refer to the information provided at the time of booking or contact your nearest VIS clinic. Following the correct preparation steps will ensure the best possible imaging results and a smooth appointment experience.
